Time: 6:00 AM
Location: Pretzel Factory (on way to work)
Dan: “May I have 3 pretzels?”
Kate bags pretzels, takes my money.
Kate: “Thank You!”(smiles)
Dan: “Hey, I’m doing a photo blog post on hard working people. Can I take your picture making pretzels?”
Kate: (pause) “Sure.” (smiles)
Kate goes to table and begins twisting pretzels as Dan stand outside of work area taking pictures.
Dan: “Hey, can I come back there and take some close-ups?”
Dan looks for a gate but can find no way into work area. Dan crawls over 4 foot wall separating customer area from work area. Stands beside Kate and snaps rather crummy pictures.
Kate: “Are you getting what you need?”
Dan: “Yes! Great! What is your name?”
Dan: “I really appreciate letting me do this! I’m Dan.”
Kate: “No problem. It was fun Dan.”
Dan: “I’ll frame the best one and drop it off. OK?”
Kate: “Wow! Sure, that would be neat!
Dan: How many pretzels can you make in an hour?
Kate: I’ve done 2000 in a shift. (smiles)
Dan: Do your wrists ever hurt?
Dan: Wow, that’s great! See you when I get the picture framed.
Kate: See ya! (smiles)
Dan blushes, crawls over the wall and leaves.
Lesson learned: There are some amazing people who work hard in the morning. Be nice to them and they will be nice to you and your day will be happier and so will theirs. And...you just might get a good photo out of the deal!!
Great photo, it looks like she is blushing too Dan :) She will have a story to tell about that nice man who came into the shop today and cheered up her boring morning. Ive never seen pretzels that big, only tiny little ones in bags.
