This is a picture taken last fall on Broad Street In Philadelphia. It is my favorite "photo street" because it has so much to see and snap! This man sells sweet potato pies daily on Broad Street. He has a wonderful collection of suits and hats. I don't know if his dress style helps to sell his pies - but I guess it can't hurt! I guess!?!
Lesson Learned: Dress in a way that that makes you feel comfortable - but not so well that it makes one wonder why you are dressed so well.
So interesting and unusual potato seller! Never seen before :) I think your fashion lesson is quite right ;)

You're so right..and not sure what the draw is, but I would buy a pie from this guy!
Cool capture, Dan! Oh, yeah...I love sweet potato pie...I'd buy one from him! If nothing else, he probably just attracts more attention that way therefore sells more pies. We have a person in a chicken suit that stands out by the highway holding a sign for "Wild Wings." I'd rather buy food from a guy dressed like that than from a human chicken! ;)))
amazing that sweet potatoe pie would need that much class or ???? never had it...never heard of it...and i'm a neighbor sort of...maybe a steelers thing....kidding ...our browns are great...and the cavs are on a roll too...HA !!!!!!!!
Quite the dandy! I think people are much more likely to buy food from him if he's dressed like that than if he were dressed shabbily. They'd tend to think the food might not be safe.
To those who have never tasted it, it should be delicious. I imagine it's like pumpkin pie (YUM!) but anyway, all pies are not dessert pies. I make something like it without a crust and with a blueberry layer in between which is delicious -- and we serve it with chicken or meat.
