# 97/365 - When Less Is More

2011.04.07
1 + 1 = 4 ............ Please enlarge

Lesson Learned: Sometimes it is not HOW MANY - but HOW that really matters.

Explanation for my wacky math!!!

1+1=4 means that the two girls that are rowing that boat are doing so in a way that is efficient, synchronized and as a team. Their effort is like 4 people rowing the boat.

The 1+1+1+1=2 means that the 4 guys in that boat are not working as a team, are looking in all directions instead of ahead and so their effort equals the effort of only 2 rowers doing a good job.

ah ah ah !!! Incredible I understood maths at once... Very unusual for me ;) ????? · 2011-04-06: 15:54

Rowing is such a cool sport to watch and these are inspirational Dan! Lets you and I get out on that river! Hopefully we are rowing in the same direction. A lot of people aren't! :) jeffcornish · 2011-04-06: 18:26
So true, nice captures .............. Who won? Marzijapan · 2011-04-06: 18:31
To me the lesson learned is that wide-format landscape shots stink on PB!!! ( I really don't mean your shots stink!) I wish they would do something so landscape format was just as good as portrait format! HoosierAtHeART · 2011-04-06: 19:45
 The math gave me a headache! :) Great lesson! juliearnold93 · 2011-04-06: 19:59
Cool captures, Dan....and very interesting math lesson! Like many others math wasn't/isn't my thing ;))) I do love watching these rowers (is that what you all them?) - the synchronization they display is amazing no matter how many there are or aren't! Also...just an aside...I completely agree with HoosierAtHeaRT! lookagain · 2011-04-06: 20:18
 I enlarged and I still don't get it. :o( *always a step behind* liveandletlive · 2011-04-06: 21:59

 Have you ever tried sculling? For me it's more like 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = -5..... aaaaarrrrggghhhh! SPLASH! Annbramwell · 2011-04-07: 06:09
