124/365 - Born Under A Bad Sign!!

Does stepping on a crack really break a mother's back????
I walked under a ladder carrying a black cat on Friday the 13th. I wonder if I should get evaluated???
Sometimes people are fearful that there are mysterious forces beyond their control that are causing them to have difficulties in thier lives.

Lesson Learned: Hard work, persistence and personal responsibility keep the mind occupied in a way that allows little time for worrying about mysterious forces that might be lurking in the shadows.
helys Great picture
Great message
Thanks for sharing dan :)

lookagain Wow, that's something else....what a very intriguing find and capture, Dan. Seems superstition and fear have invaded many people's minds at some time or another, but hopefully not often to this degree! Excellent lesson learned to accompany the shot.

MARETKA88 · 2011-05-03: 14:08
Marzijapan Never have been superstitious at all ............ as they say ............... its all a load of grannies tales or codswallop!!!
But I really like your post and the photo, its amazing how many people are actually superstitious :-)
Marzijapan · 2011-05-03: 14:15
joycephotography I always have enough to worry about without being superstitious . Great post dan.

mrmeliska Cool post...Love the "Evil Eye"
mrmeliska · 2011-05-03: 15:16
renatomartins I like how you tell stories :) Nice post
renatomartins · 2011-05-03: 15:22
????? Ask my husband about what "evil eye" really is...

This looks to me like commercial advantage taking of innocent people. Kind of like the Kabbalah Center, which has nothing to do with real kaballah.
????? · 2011-05-03: 15:45
tomie a new religion is starting!
tomie · 2011-05-03: 15:45

????? Another great post of yours, Dan.
I like your style, man :)

Well, I'm not superstitious and being spiritual has nothing to do with that stuff ;)

LAZYWASP Where is that Black cat again? :)
LAZYWASP · 2011-05-03: 18:02
karmankwarner Love this; too funny. I too like your style. :) It is interesting that people are "afraid" of so much except that which they really should be afraid of. :) Too Funny!!
karmankwarner · 2011-05-03: 18:20
MoMac Nice one :)
MoMac · 2011-05-03: 18:21
????? most of the things we fear never come to pass~ however, if demons or evil powers were to head their ugly powers to the point where I felt like a victim, I would be more likely to visit church than to a spiritual evaluation!!!!

mallusatish “Superstition is the weakness of the human mind; it is inherent in that mind; it has always been, and always will be..”Wonderful post and lesson
mallusatish · 2011-05-03: 20:58
ilikethat ha ha if you go make sure you open your umbrella inside while someone is evaluating you
ilikethat · 2011-05-03: 22:54
lyricalthoughts I agree with your lesson learned. A lot of people believe in these kinds of beliefs.. sometimes it is really persuasive. But like you said.. we have to keep our minds occupied with our daily tasks.. and we have to pray for discernment on what is true and false.
lyricalthoughts · 2011-05-03: 23:03
liveandletlive LOVE this set Dan. I am extremely superstitious, but selectively so. I hate spilling salt and I have to knock on wood if I say anything predicting something good. I love when black cats cross my path and I will intentionally walk under ladders. Oh, and I HATE breaking mirrors, but to break the bad luck, you take a shard of the broken glass and touch it to a headstone in a cemetery. In case you ever have the need.
liveandletlive · 2011-05-03: 23:38
liveandletlive PS, I'm going to Google codswallop.
liveandletlive · 2011-05-03: 23:39
trippindelight Luck helps : ))
Great post as usual, Dan
trippindelight · 2011-05-04: 00:32

DancingDolphin · 2011-05-04: 00:46
Annbramwell Oh No! A black cat! A ladder! and on Friday the 13th! I think you have gond beyond the need for an evaluation... I think you are doomed! Pity! I was kinda getting used to having you around...
Annbramwell · 2011-05-04: 02:40
RayNvb So true!
....... And you are doomed! Quick, go knock on wood!
RayNvb · 2011-05-04: 05:23
Lynda I always equate superstition with ignorance and fear and definitely agree with Marzijapan that it's all a load of codswallop!
Lynda · 2011-05-04: 09:26
abstractlight a thing that we should fear most are all forms of evangelising that prey on fear
abstractlight · 2011-05-04: 16:19

busybee36 How do you know if you've been the victim of the evil eye?! Can you see it?
busybee36 · 2011-05-05: 12:48
atszabo Carrying a black cat is OK, trouble starts only if the creature crosses your path, Dan!!!
atszabo · 2011-05-05: 13:07
Eiram Fantastic post, Dan! My husband was born on a 13th:) And we married in May ...I think my mom never forgave me that one:) (To marry in May means you will die very young, or the marriage will not last - to this day not many couples in my country are that brave to marry in May:))
