Lesson Learned: We live in a world that is consumed with reducing risk and making every step we take a safe step. But some people will not allow themselves to be "protected" from living their life to its fullest.
Note: I will be away for a few days starting Thursday so I am posting more frequently in that I will not be able to do so while away. Sorry to overwhelm you with posts!! :-))
Fantastic shot....and great lesson! Reminds me of a quote that says that at the end of your life you'll be more regretful of the things you didn't do than the ones you did. Some people make life an adventure...
Dan, this is a fantastic photo! I am adding it to my favorites! Where did you find him? This little guy knows how to live;) And I agree with you that this world is all about living on the safe side... we should be more afraid to die than to live! :)
great lines in this shot,
I always wondered how sailors know which rope to pull to hoist the mainsail :-)

That's a great image Dan.
I heard someone say once the reason we are so risk-averse is down to protective parenting. Every time a child leaves the house the are warned to, "be careful"! No one says to their kids, "take lots of risks today"!
Excellent photo! I strongly agree with you about the "protection" thing. Speaking as an ex primary teacher I find it very sad to see so many children who have not been allowed to be children... within reason, of course. Over protective parents have unwittingly damaged so many wonderful children.
