181/365 - Before You Look - No One Was Injured - Enjoy!

NJ Turnpike - Billowing Smoke up ahead. All traffic stopped dead! My hour and a half commute home will now stretch to three hours or more!

Again - sorry for so many pictures!!!
Restlessness sets in. People start evacuating their pods!
Strangers get aquainted and chat a bit!
Some find a moment to do isometric exercises and to reflect!
Ahhhh! Here we go. I felt funny taking pictures not knowing at the time what the fire was all about, but this man made me feel better! He was possibly insensitive as well. I was not the only one!!!!
And then everybody got in the swing of things and out came electronics of every type!!! It was a happening!
For others - just another opportunity to catch some zzzzz's.
What a fantastic smile and pose! Yo Yo Yo!!
Fire trucks of every type and color raced by. So loud!!
Wait - the black smoke has just turned white - do we have a new Pope????
This Catholic commuter thought so - she pulled out a prayer book and started praying for the new Pontiff.

Note - I had to practically stick my camera into the car to get this shot!!!!
Ah - now we're talking. Maybe they know Leah and the good Rabbi! I will check them out!!
Jack and Caryl. She was doing a wood carving to make prints with. She was all too ready to talk to me and I was a willing listener! Jack was a bit quiet but a nice man!
Her work was beautiful! She is an artist and works alot with children in a camp setting.
Caryl convinced Jack to go into the car's trunk and retrieve her current art projects so that she could show them to me. Jack was hesitant, but eventually got them. The print she made from a metal etching to illustrate the Book of Ester.
Another metal etching plate. She does fantastic work!!!!
Another related to the Book of Ester.
How beautiful! She was very proud of her work.
A more colorful creation written in Hebrew! She took the time to read it to me.
Sadly I had to part from my new friends. Traffic moved slowly ahead. The scene of what was left of the tractor trailer after the collision and fire.
Exhausted firemen still working to put the fire out completely in the burned out camper that was hit by the truck!
Lesson Learned 1: Be interested, look interested and act interested - you never know what you might learn or who you might meet.

Lesson Learned 2: Since I stopped caring about looking like a nut, I am having such an interesting time.

karmankwarner Wonderful Captures, Beautiful Set, Perfect Lessons.
I have found that slowing down and speaking with complete strangers allows me to find that we are not as different as I would have first thought.
That lady has an Amazing talent, thanks for sharing it with us.
Love the expression in #8. Too Funny.
#7 with the socks I think is my favorite. That is what I would probably do. :)
