288/365 - Moving Through The Night + Cat Hat Update

2011.10.15
pixel
While driving near dawn, two brand new war machines atop a trailer went rushing by. Our brave young people will soon fill the void they have inside! A chilling thought...

Lesson Learned: There are realities in life that make our everyday complaints seem small - even silly.

????? ... silent untold manoeuvres in the dark... for another war? Iran this time?

A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

Kovac Great shot :) I really like military stuffs :) Thanks for sharing Dan!
Kovac · 2011-10-15: 06:07

MoMac The men and women behind our safety. Strong image and perfect tones in this light .
MoMac · 2011-10-15: 06:15
????? ? our "safety" is translated into "military aggression"... UK and USA attacked Iraq but no mass destruction weapons were found there... UK leaked the a** to the USA again ;) just another excuse to attack military a country full of OIL, uh? :) ah ah aha ! poor western "civilized" people... USA was born from the hugest genocide of the first peoples of the human history! I didn't celebrate Colombo's discovery of course ;)
Resistenza, always. If not NOW, when ??
????? · 2011-10-15: 06:30
????? sorry Dan, but I feel deeply fed up of this GLOBAL WORLD SHIT :/
We're getting worse and worse as humans... or we're just revealing our deep miserable human core?!? NO hope if humans go on this way...
????? · 2011-10-15: 06:36
danrav No problem!! Glad my image aroused you!!! The photo is successful. Thanks for your great comments!!!! (((((Resistenza)))))

ArtBee As if there hasn't been enough young lives lost and the nation's money sunk into the war machine. It's off and running to fight a new war.......God Help Us!
ArtBee · 2011-10-15: 07:45
Annbramwell Have you used sepia tones, or is that just the natural lighting, either way... great capture, and obviously very emotive subject matter...
Annbramwell · 2011-10-15: 07:58
marilynx War can be seen as a coward's way of escaping the problems of peace...it also makes good history whereas peace makes poor reading.
However it's better to have a just war than an unjust peace.
Clearly an evocative capture...
On a lighter note it could have been built from Meccano in the old days!
marilynx · 2011-10-15: 08:34
jennyLit Great shot! gives me chills though..the tone is just perfect for the picture and lesson.
jennyLit · 2011-10-15: 08:59
karmankwarner This is a perfect lesson, if we would all see with our hearts I wonder how the world would change....
Regardless of the reason for the machines; your capture does them justice and represents your lesson perfectly.
RIP the missing Cathats.....

mallusatish Great shot and very powerful and emotional lesson Dan~!~
mallusatish · 2011-10-15: 09:33

Eiram As a citizen of a small nation in the heart of Europe I am aware of the necessity of such war machines and I have my respect for the young people who will operate them...without their older brothers and fathers I would noit be here , nor my family or children....The history taught us a hard lesson, I wish so much we would live in a world without wars! But I am afraid it will take a very long time for this dream to come true...
Eiram · 2011-10-15: 13:02
renatomartins Dan, very good lesson.

lyricalthoughts a thought provoking post dan. Certainly there are people who are making larger decisions, experiencing even more about life .. something we can't imagine.
lyricalthoughts · 2011-10-16: 07:41
RayNvb I look to the day when such war machines are unnecessary and extinct. The sad truth is that a truck filled with coffins is following that one.
RayNvb · 2011-10-16: 12:08
BeatleGreg OK Dan a couple of things. I saw a post where you said your photography is mediocre. I am sorry but I beg to differ. This is a great shot! The emotions you received in your comments prove this. Art is supposed to make you think. Your photo certainly does this. I love the monochromatic tones of this picture!
BeatleGreg · 2011-10-16: 14:10
lukesmom You got that right! Everything is relative! Great shot to express your point!
