107/366 - Life Between The Lines

2012.04.16

The grand irony. Bars on the opening leads to broken windows and a dark room.

Lesson Learned: Life has a way of happening - no matter how hard you try to stop it.

Life Between The Lines

Bars - keep you out -
Not a chance - never…
And me – behind them –
Safe and alone. – destiny?

Yet there is risk –
The metal leaves spaces…
Enough for you to enter –
Only at arm’s length – but enough.

Tears a hole…shatters the pane
The outside enters - briefly...
Teases my mind.
I pull the shade – no light remains.

mazpics Great shot. I love the textures. Very moody and quite dark.

marilynx If only the lines were that straight!!! :-)

Annbramwell It's a sign of the times.... perhaps it is the bars, put there for protection, that provoked the vandal to throw the stone...?
Annbramwell · 2012-04-16: 05:06

atszabo This vs The Good Old Days when people never even had to lock their front doors, ever... like about 20 years ago still, in Louisville KY! What a drastic change!

LAZYWASP We have a saying ...Locks only keep honest people out.
I like the shot..not sure why.
LAZYWASP · 2012-04-16: 17:04
lookagain Dark, dramatic and somewhat hopeless mood this post presents yet effectively so. Sounds like self-imposed "imprisonment" - difficult to understand.
lookagain · 2012-04-16: 19:02
darfoster That's for sure! Very dramatic shot!
darfoster · 2012-04-16: 19:27
DancingDolphin Ha ha... I have been known when in LA to decide about stopping at certain gas stations based on whether the houses around it have bars on the windows! Bars = don't stop here... no bars= OK to stop. 8^)
DancingDolphin · 2012-04-16: 19:52
paintbox You can make a story, or lesson, out of anything. This really proves that. And it's so true, too.
paintbox · 2012-04-16: 21:28

renatomartins I love the structures on the bars
renatomartins · 2012-04-21: 11:35
Ryana Thank goodness the lines are not that straight. Imagine, just straight, all perfectly delineated, no gray areas, no place for creativity ... how boring would that be.

Strong post yet again Dan.
