If I had a million dollars...

Uploaded late, and for good reason.

Wednesday, as I was driving home for the week/end, I got in a car accident. I was turning left, and mid-turn an old man in a black truck ran straight into me, denting the passenger side of my car all to hell.

We were both going slow, but my car got the short end of the stick. The man's fender was rubbing on his tire, which is easily fixed; me, on the other hand... I need a new fender, passenger door (the ones my dad bought me are maroon, and need to be painted silver/grey to match the rest of the car), and to get the back passenger door banged OUT to remove the small dent in it.

ARGH. The old man called the cops after the accident, and he didn't really react that much. Me, I was crying and shaking (as is evident in the picture) and all-over freaking out. I called my parents, who live over two hours away. I don't have a job, so I'm on my parent's car insurance. Once all the cop-stuff was taken care of, I still had to sit in a diner's parking lot (where I pulled into right after the accident) for over two hours, listening to static-y radio.

Anyway, the cop was very nice. I didn't get a ticket, and he mentioned something about "not putting salt on the wound," and "it's only an accident." Yes, but now I'm out a car for a few months. If I need to go somewhere on campus, I'm either not going at all, or I'm going to have to carpool... with people I don't even know.

As you can see, my side mirror was torn off, too. The old man thought it was a chunk of ice in the middle of the road. Nope; it's just my mirror. He was kind, though, and ran out to get it for me.

Overall, it was a very shitty start to my weekend of relaxation. At least -I- wasn't seriously injured -- only my poor car. I did spend the weekend at home, but I didn’t go on the computer. I just didn’t want to deal with technology at all, so my 365 photos had to wait for the time being.
