Many years ago (1990 I think) I went to my local tip [resufue centre] to dump some rubbish and saw this old microphone and dug it out. At the time it was dirty and covered in a grey hammer-finnish which I cleaned off which has changed its original appearance, but I think for the better.

The main body is brass (with a few speckles of copper).
The stand is chrome plated.

The based is Bakelite (which originally was covered with the grey hammer-finish as mentioned above).

I recently (15-April-2009) saw a similar mic used as a 'prop' on the TV show 'Newswipe' presented by Charlie Brooker and instantly though "I've got one of them!"
