I think my household of 7 cats and 5 cavalier king charles spaniels, 2 pekinese, 1 dachshund, 1 poodle, 1 maltese/shitzu, 1 chihuahua, and 7 shetland sheepdogs qualifies me for adopting a non-human friend !- You know, an animal will never break your heart - until it dies, and that is the only way it will abandon you - unlike we humans, many of whom abandon their animal friends all the time.. what a species we are!
