Hadrians Wall
Day 12 of the trip and a walk along Hadrian's Wall (built in the 2nd century AD and marking the northern boundary of the Roman Empire). A fantastic engineering achievement - 117km long! Those Romans knew a thing or two about building.
Then a drive down to the Lake District and my final stop at Lake Windermere.
Today's picture is a section of Hadrian's wall at Walltown Crags near Carlisle - you know, it isn't very easy to take an interesting picture of a crumbling wall!
