Sshhhh.... spooks about!

This edifice (on the left) is the not-at-all-secret headquarters of the British Secret Intelligence Service (otherwise known as MI6) - the place where the real James Bonds live. It's at Vauxhall Cross on the south bank of the Thames in London and is drenched in hi-tech surveilllance and comms equipment (they probably get very good phone reception).

In fact, there is a theory that the "M" character played by Judi Dench in the Bond movies led directly to the first appointment of a woman (Stella Rimington) as the head of the rival intelligence service MI5. Actually, not so much a theory as something I just made up... but you never know, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
