This is a bit of a spin on the theme, but I couldn't resist it.

There was a time when the British policeman (the “Bobby on the Beat”) was famous for being unarmed – don’t get me wrong, most still are unarmed. But unfortunately, this is becoming a more and more common sight on London's streets. I stopped and spoke to this guy and he was perfectly friendly; just a guy doing his job. I’m just sorry we live in a world where his job is necessary.
