Yerebatan Cistern

It doesn't sound very exotic but I think this place deserves to be thought of as the 8th wonder of the ancient world.

This is the Yerebatan Cistern, built in the 6th century to hold a water suppy beneath the city of Byzantium. It is a truly wondrous place.

But taking photos was a challenge - no flash, no tripod. This was hand held, pushing the ISO way up and still was a struggle.

The result isn't great but I had to post a pic as I loved the place.
