Taking pictures for people isn't easy.

2008.06.22

Yes, it's official.

I promised a friend that I would go along to Fenton House in Hampstead and take a few pictures of the gardens. "What could be easier?" I hear you ask..... we've been here before if you have seen recent posts. Yes, it's only going to go down-hill from now on.

It's a sorry saga.

The first time, I set off and arrive in Hampstead sans A-Z and realising with some surprise that I don't know where the damned place is. It's not a problem I think to myself as I stop a passer-by to ask. They were Polish..... and had no clue what I was asking.

By the time I had stopped someone else only to find they were also Polish I was beginning to think I had been parachuted into Krakow and had to convince myself otherwise by retreating into the pub.

So, attempt two. I had by this time not only remembered to put an A-Z in my rucksack but had also looked up the address on the internet. "Sorted," I thought to myself as I boldly walked up Hampstead Grove (the correct address) and found the beautiful house above (the correct house)... and found it closed.

It would have helped if I had checked not only the address but the opening hours as well :(

You may think that it isn't difficult taking pictures for people it's just that I'm an idiot. You may be right.... damn.
