Sometimes it's funny how things work out.

Yesterday I was set a little challenge to take a photo, so over a glass or several of wine last evening I was thinking of what would make it fitting.

I decided I wanted something which is thoughtful, a little melancholy and certainly beautiful. Now, I had no specific timetable to meet so I thought I would specifically look for something when I got home.

However, first thing this morning when I went outside I was faced with this. I know I haven't done it justice. Because the light was so fleeting I had to be very quick and try to grab something of the essence of the moment. But it just seemed fitting.

So this is for a friend I have never met.

Btw, on a technical note, this is not a b/w conversion, I underexposed in the camera by 3/4 stop and just cropped a little off the frame at the bottom. Otherwise the pic is unaltered.
