Yesterday - things have changed a little

You need to click on the images to enlarge them in order to see anything meaningful.

I got my first SLR when I was at university in the early 80s and I tramped all over London taking pictures - I was hooked. The other day I found some fairly poor quality prints of some pictures I took in Greenwich Park - must have been about 1983. I realised just how things have changed in the intervening time.

The docklands and east end of London have been virtually obliterated and replaced by the steel and glass tower blocks commerce.

Yesterday I went back and took a few more pictures by way of comparison. Thought you might like the contrast.

busybee36 Thats really interesting to see the comparison, and what a great skyline! In the most recent photo you can clearly see the Dome, the London Eye and Canary Wharf and of course good old Battersea Power Station, although its use has somewhat changed over the last 25 years!

keeyo Excellent. One notable change is the scorched grass - back when we used to have a summer..

Lynda Interesting. What a shame the view had to be spoilt by ugly modern buildings/ carbuncles.
