I've had a couple of days with friends in Worcestershire, staying in Worcester itself. The main building of historic interest in the city is the wonderful Anglican cathedral on the banks of the River Severn.

It was founded in 680 and the first cathedral was built in this period but nothing now remains of it. The existing crypt of the cathedral dates from the 10th century and the time of St Oswald, bishop of Worcester. The main buildings are a mere 700-800 years old, dating from the 12th and 13th centuries. :)
