Eternal land...

A baobab on the border between Botswana and Namibia...

Cape Point.... nothing but sea between here and Australia...

I hope you brought your bucket and spade...

The Fish River Canyon, Namibia...

Flowers, flowers everywhere... the fynbos, South Africa

The desolate Kuiseb region of Namibia...

On Robben Island, off Cape Town, where Nelson Mandela and most of the ANC leadership were imprisoned at some point....

Insignificant in the landscape... the Sessriem Canyon Namibia

One of the things I found fascinating was the variety in the landscape as we travelled south west from Vic Falls through the lush river ways of northern Botswana and Namibia, to the arid desert of the Namib, the dramatic rugged valleys of the Fish River canyon and finally south through the flower-strewn fynbos of South Africa to the Cape.

burbulz 'When I made the drawing of the baobabs I was carried beyond myself by the inspiring force of urgent necessity'.

(and I'm getting sentimental while looking at #2).

sunshineand YES, A WONDERFUL VARIETY

redro I'm sure you had a bag of tricks with you and positioned props wherever you needed them for pictures.
With a magical touch you tilted the baobab crown to embrace the horizon in #1...
Added fence posts and a rock for perfect balance in #5,
And wheels (ok, the bird was there ) in #7,
Even moved the sun for the shadows to be in place (amazing colour of sand !) in #3,
Everything looks so monumental, I thought the piles of rocks (isivivane ?-did you make them ?) were huge until I noticed the grass close by in #6,
Good idea to throw one of your companions in at least one of the canyons for size reference ( is he/she still there? ) in#8.
I love the sky in #2, the light shimmer on water and the haze, so surreal.
Grrrreat, I want more.
