I think memories are what make connections. If you were only born there but have no nostalgic memories of the place, you probably will not feel a connection with the place.

I hate towns and cities, I love such places.You don" t like that is why it is grey, but really it is full of colours!

I never felt at home where I've been born...Everywhere else I feel more comfortable, but I don't think that I ever felt "at home " anywhere...There is a saying that "home is where your heart is "...I'm still looking...or maybe I'm just a gypsy. My dreams and my desires make the connections....We might be onto something here... You need an intense treatment with Stilton ;)

It's an interesting question ... I visited lots of places last year that were the homes of my ancestors - I felt right at home in some and completely ill at ease in others. I think it had something to do with the weather :-)))))
