Primrose, Bacon and thoughts of other images...

A somewhat bizarre title but it kind of makes sense in my mind... I'm not too sure what that says about the state of my mind.

Anyway, this is Primrose Hill. I have posted pictures in Photoblog before which I took from there looking back over the city. It's one of my favourite places, any time of year but it's also the site for one of my favourite portraits... of Francis Bacon, taken by Bill Brandt. Whatever you may think of the work of Bacon, you can't deny BB's picture is something very special. And coincidentally it was taken the year I was born.
