Just thinking of having a few b/w pictures this week for a change. I was wondering which to start off with and then I got a comment from Stéfan about a picture I took in Syria so I thought I'd dig out a picture from that trip that I hadn't posted before.

This is the Grand Mosque or Ummayad Mosque of Aleppo, the oldest and largest in the city. The ornamental / geometrical decoration on the floor seemed to cry out for a b/w conversion... well I never claimed to be an original thinker!

One of my favourite mosques. I remember taking many pictures of this mosque, i think we went there at night and got some speccy effects with the lightening . . . unfortunately these pics are still somewhere in Istanbul . . .
