Crystal River Archaeological State Park

This six-mound complex is considered one of the longest, continually occupied sites in Florida. For 1,600 years (200 B.C. -1400 A.D.), the 14-acre site was one of the most imposing prehistoric ceremonial centers on Florida's west coast. This high mound built around 600 A.D. supported a temple.

This was a commemorative stone with the likeness of a human head carved into its surface. Takes some imagination to make out the carving.

I call this a Spanish moss tree, as there are no leaves. Just branches with Spanish moss hanging on them.
