Here is the banda, my past home. Many memories come flooding in at the site of this beautiful spot. I didn't leave here until a red spitting cobra was found in the bedroom one day. This precipitated the move to Voi town and eventually the final move to Vipingo on the Mombasa coast.

We are now on our way to a new tent camp in Tsavo West National Park. Zebras like this one can be seen all along the Nairobi/Mombasa Highway. There are also giraffes off in the distance.

This is where the infamous lions, that killed over 200 railroad workers, lived and hunted during the building of the railroad.
The two lions were eventually killed and are now housed in the Chicago Field Museum in the states.

Katoo's life like most of the Masai is having to adapt to change. He can no longer live his pastoral life but is forced to move to the city for employment as an askaris (security guard). Thank goodness he has not given up his traditional dress and customs.

My very special friend, Seremon (George). He speaks very good English and we are able to have wonderful communication. He also acts as an interpreter for the Masai community since very few have been to school or have learned the English language. Thank you so much George. You have been an incredible friend and companion.

I am saying farewell to my Kenyan family and friends for now and heading back to the states to enjoy a reunion with my family and friends there. I am looking forward to seeing each and everyone of you soon. The trip has been most incredible - better than I could have ever imagined. Thank you for joining me on this journey of personal discovery. Best regards, Dee
