The 7th hole, out on a peninsula, is considered one of the most beautiful holes in golf

The famous "18th hole" is fabled by players around the world - to play it is to walk where golf history has been made

Huge yachts and small sailboats anchor to watch the play at hole #4

The bay is peaceful between holes 4 & 5

There are tents, grandstands, consessions, and television equipment everywhere to accomodate the thousands that come and those that watch the event on TV

One of my favorite holes - #6 - plays back to the ocean. This is the center of the fairway and the green is on the point at the top of the hill beside that really large cypress tree. (I parred this one!)

We sat on the ground to eat our lunch and this was the view!

I couldn't capture the expanse of this shot, but the #8 tee in down the hill from the two marshalls in the red jackets and this is the green, over an enormous abyss!

Pebble Beach is famous for its small greens and huge trees!

Larry found a great shot (which he posted) from the top of these empty grandstands behind the 18th green. The rest of the 4-day tournament, these will be packed with fans from around the world.

We spent all day at Pebble Beach watching the US Open, getting there around 7:00 this morning and it was clear and cold the entire time. But, the beauty of the course itself overwhelmed everyone. I took over 400 photos, so it was really difficult to decide on a dozen of my favorite shots. I have shots of almost every one of the famous players and contenders, but I'll have to post them another time.

Wow. Beautiful place. I just may have to learn to like golf.

The sight on the ocean, is so beautiful and relaxing. I can almost hear the sounds of the waves. Another beautiful set, Brenda :)

7 & 8 are awesome. So are the others, but those two are my favorites. Wow, what beautiful scenery and captures! Thanks again for sharing a place I'll probably never be able to go to.
