Larry sat patiently waiting for people to move away from the statue so he could get a photo of it. When I saw my own "Navy lieutenant." sitting there, I had to take the shot.

This wonderful bronze plaque is part of the tribute to the US Navy who has a base in Alameda, CA and at the Presidio in San Fran. (This is great enlarged!)

A "you take my picture and I'll take yours" shot at Golden Gate Park. (If we have on the same clothes in every shot, it's because we only have one warm jacket each - and it's so cold and windy here!)

We left Monterey around 10:00 and arrived in Eureka, CA at 9:30 tonight - a long and very curving road along the coastline, then inland through the redwood forests, and finally back down to the ocean. It was a very long day and a hard drive for Larry. We both took a lot of photos, but I chose to post the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. I got a little thrill driving across it, just thinking about its incredible history and stature among the world's great structures.

The shot of Larry and the statue is simply fantastic! I wish we had the cold and windy here in Tennessee~it has been MISERABLE here.
