(This has nice detail when enlarged. A pen-and-ink with watercolor - I made him sign it before I took it home!))
Some of you who saw my post yesterday asked about the story of the high school boy whose painting I saved from the trash can in English class! Since then, he's had a wonderful career as an artist and as an instructor. Last weekend, he gave me a REAL "Gil Adams" painting - I think in the hope that I would return the old one! (He never like it - I've always loved it.) So today, for all my PB friends and my FB buddies, here's the "real deal" from 1964! Thanks, Gil, for the new one, but I still cherish this old one!!

His website is www.giladams.com - and the painting he gave me is shown on the "exhibition" page. I also love the paintings on the "bio" and "home" pages, too. For those of you who are artists, I think you'll be impressed with his impressionist style.

HoosierAtHeART I think it is such a wonderful story! I did check out his website and was impressed and envious! Love the pen and ink, it has a wonderful style.

darfoster Yes, it's a lovely piece! The artist is almost always his greatest critic. Glad you saved it!

MoMac TFS this lovely piece of art and story . I looked at his site and really liked the " outdoor still life one"
Put me in the mood for painting an oil now but I must have "artist's cramp" stuck for ideas . I was just going to post my TI inspiration finished ones too, to let you see . Your story has encouraged me since you saved a thrown away sketch and he became a success so your criticism can't be that bad if not good.!!!!
