Jesus said "I have come that people may have life and that they may enjoy life to the full". (John 10:10 - the Convoy motto imprinted on our t-shirts)

Today, Larry and I worked at "Convoy of Hope", an area-wide event in which over 30 churches and many service groups in our community came together to help over 2000 people in need. It was an amazing experience to provide those people with a hot meal and bags of non-perishable food items; cut their hair; show them dental and physical hygiene; give them new shoes; play games with them in 105 degree temperatures; and hand them a backpack of school supplies. (Our church stuffed 1500 backpacks this week!) Larry and I worked in the photography area, where professional photogs took over 600 portraits of families and individuals. It was such a joyful event!

Have a wonderful and restful Sunday.

lgnelson You really captured the heart of the event, Brenda, in this post. What a joy to be able to join with other volunteers from so MANY local churches to minister to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of others.
