I wonder why some people hate HDR...

Am I just too liberated to appreciate more tones and saturation?

I personally thik it's part of photo processing by enhancing the tones of the photo to make it have more life.

Your thoughts?

eljapa tried some myself..I Like hdr very much but its not easy, always a suprise(to me anyway) what the result will be..I'm a beginner but i think this one is overdone a bit...looks nice anyway:-)

makaid I think this is a very subjective topic. My opinion of HDR is it is a wonderful tool when used properly. But in order to have a good HDR you need to start with a good photo. If composition, lighting and subject are not outstanding in the original, the HDR probably will not be that great.

My goal when it comes to HDR is to make an image look slightly unreal without revealing that I have acheived it using HDR.

doidefiesta Thanks for your thoughts. I also realized that you should do post processing when your computer room is well lit! I processed this at around 2 AM with lights turned off... That's why probably it looks too saturated because my sight that time told me that the picture didn't have much color. :)

I also agree with Makaid that you need to have a good photo to start with.

I really have to get myself one of those tilt and shifts!

Experiment... Experiment... :)

davidcardona HDR is a great tool but It don´t supplies a bad composition, a bad control of speed or a bad control of depth of field produced by an error -for example-. When an user uses HDR aware of the work he wanna see, he can obtain a remarkable work usually! Thougths about use of HDR It´s a subjective topic as makaid says, but the facts and works of an artist, talk about him more than the works about how he did it! Thanks for sharing!

Almond I prefer the original. HDR made white reflections that seems as burnt colours.
