2007-ben Andreas Fogarasi „Kultur und Freizeit" című videóinstallációja nyerte el a Velencei Biennálén a legjobb nemzeti pavilonnak járó Arany Oroszlán díjat. Az Ernst Múzeumban megrendezett kiállítás keretében végre Budapesten is látható a budapesti kultúrházakról készült hat videóinstalláció: a populáris kultúra színhelyeinek kérdését feszegető, vitákat is kiváltó mű.
A kiállítás a Kultur und Freizeit projekt mellett elsőként mutat be Magyarországon nagyobb szabású válogatást a magyar származású bécsi művész elmúlt 7-8 évben készített munkáiból. Fogarasi számos munkája és sorozata foglalkozik a kulturális identifikáció kérdéseivel. Projektjeinek szerves része a tipográfiával, kommunikációs designnal, építészettörténettel és ipari formatervezéssel kapcsolatos kutatás.
Munkájának elismeréseként az Oktatási és Kulturális Minisztérium „Pro Cultura Hungarica” díjat adományozott a művésznek.
A díjat a megnyitón Dr. Schneider Márta, kulturális szakállamtitkár asszony adja át Andreas Fogarasinak.

In 2007, Andreas Fogarasi’s video installation “Kultur und Freizeit” at the Venice Biennale won the Golden Lion for the best national pavilion. With the current show, Ernst Museum presents at last in Budapest the six video installations which discuss the scenes of popular culture and have encouraged intense debates.
The exhibition is also the first to present in Hungary a representative selection from the works of the Hungarian-born Viennese artist from the past eight years. Several of his pieces and series deal with issues of cultural identification. His research in typography, communication design, the history of architecture and industrial design, forms an integral part of his projects.
In acknowledgment of his work, the Hungarian Ministry of Education and Culture has awarded Andreas Fogarasi the “Pro Cultura Hungarica” Prize. The award will be handed over by State Secretary for Culture Dr. Márta Schneider during the opening ceremony.
