2008.01.28
1. (sepia, macro)

2. Swings (b/w)

3. Short Line railroad bridge.

4. Railroad crossing gate. (b/w)

5. Short Line railroad bridge (b/w)

6. Protected wildlife refuge area.

7. (macro)

8. (sepia)

9. Fat squirrell

10. Cuyahoga River

11. Just a few feet north of this point, the canal was cut off so it could be fished in the northern portion. This spillway sends water from the canal down into the Cuyahoga River. I liked the glass effect of the water going over the branch...

12. Ohio & Erie Canal. My attempt at an Ansel Adams shot. (b/w)

13. I'm not sure what this is, but it was a welcome splash of color... (macro)

14. (sepia)

15. Many of the mallards have paired off into couples.

16. (macro)

17. (b/w)

18. This mallard was part of a male-only sord of ducks.

19. The group of male mallards finally noticed me and they were outta here... Can you find all four?

20. (b/w)

21. Ice fishing on the northern section of the canal.

22. A closer shot of the ice fisherman on the canal. I don't know how thick the ice is, but I could not believe how comfortable the ice fishermen were standing out there.

Today, I started at the Canalway Center in Cuyahoga Heights and worked my way south on the towpath to the spot where I found the ducks last week.

The sun was out, clouds were present, and the temperature was up in the 40s making it a great walk.
