DC Trip - National Museum of American History

This is when Steve learned two things:
1.) I have a quick shutter finger. 2.) Don't make silly faces when asked to "stand over by those nice plants for a picture for Mary." |

It's Wednesday and they're still smiling!

In the Civil War portion of the "America at War" exhibit, there was a chair and a backdrop for taking olde fashioned photos.

Most of the photos on the wall seemed to have the subject looking out into space...

This is where the original Star Spangled Banner used to hang. Now it is the front of the Star Spangled Banner Exhibit that was my favorite exhibit of the week.

Day 3
On Wednesday, we started out with the American History Museum. My favorite exhibit of the week was the Star Spangled Banner exhibit. Amazing.
Learning our lesson from Tuesday, we made sure we hit one of the cafes in the museum for lunch.
We trucked down Constitution Avenue to the National Gallery of Art. The West Wing contains all of the classical works and the works of the masters.
Once we were tired of art, we caught a cab and went down to the Vietnam War Memorial (and adjacent Lincoln Memorial).
Later, Stephanie and I met up with my college buddy, Mark Pesavento, for dinner. It was great to see and catch up with Pez and (after dinner) his wife, Meaghan!
