dear friends, about Tibet and China

2008.04.17
hey my friends on photoblog
i ve been considering this place as place to share photos and meet photographers all of the world and never thought one day this gonna to be associated with politics or whatever
but what happened recently in my country and part of the responses to my last post make me want to know something, know about your opinions actually
I ve just wrote something to a photoblog friend so to save time let me just quote it firstly, it represents my opinion
"hey dear tim, thanks for the comment.
Me too! I love both China and Tibet but that is never exclusive, cause Tibet itself has been a part of China. Since childhood i and all friends around me have seen it as a province, like all other provinces of china. We sometimes heard ppl going there to travel and we heard local people there are kind and warmhearted to travellers, actually very very few has been heard about any unpleasant thing between people from Tibet and from other parts of china.
As for the free Tibet movements, i see it as the desire of a few people with political purposes rather than the Tibet residences. cause what i knew and saw is a few people were organized or employed to fight plain people on the road, destroy city constructions, they even set fire to a primary school during school hours when all the kids were sitting in it having classes.
of course I m not in Tibet and this is what I heard and saw. But from all information and recourses as well as from my friend who is now working in Tibet, what I heard is very close to the truth. May i just wonder why you think Tibet should be freed and what you know about the current situations there and most importantly thing, how you knew about this?
im looking forward to hearing your opinion."
i think that is about it.
I m sure all of you are reasonable people. Politicians have their own desires and purposes so they tell lies. But I believe you do not. Our judges, yours and mine, are based on what we heard and saw. What I heard and saw is just given and I also wanna know about yours.
Before you show support for Free Tibet movements, did you really care about the case and read about it on newspapers and internets or you just think all kind of "Free XXX" movements sound innocent and stand for peace? If the former, may I know what you heard about Tibet and China?
thanks very much.

samuelsonthhc Thanx for invation

I live in Slovakia, when it was czechoslovakia, before 1989 here was a totalitarian communist authoritarianism. Our country was occuped by soviet army since 1968. There was a fear-atmosphere every day.

Now, Slovakia is in European Union, Nato and our government is democraticly voted.

I think that Tibetian people are in alike situation like czechs and slovaks before 1989....so I want to express solidarity with Tibet.

Communism is very bad.

FREE TIBET !

carmitage Sorry for the young Chinese people who feel they are misunderstood. People in China have been informed in biased
way about Tibet and the Tibetans. Tibet was a free country before
China decided to take over.

Since then Tibet has been under repression.

Yes we are beeing well informed and we are free to travel and therefore to have our own opinion about what we see.

The Olympics in China was the only way Tibetans could make themselves heard, the world had forgotten about their plight !

No jugement made here, nothing personnal, only a situation that could be changed if better understood.

ronin53 I did really care about the case and read about it on newspapers and internet as for Bhurma, Darfur, Middle East and any other place in the world where economic or political interests predominate on human civil rights.
Let me only add one more thought: to be a photographer doesn't mean to be able to make good shots (digital technology helps a lot, even a kid); it means to be witness of our time and share our sensitivity as much as possible.
Media evolve themselves very fast and, lucky me, photoblog is not a circle of "blind" minds :)

amagala My reason to suppport "free Tibet" relies mostly on the feeling i share that all people should be free to choose its own religion: i believe Tibet has an important tradition on fighting for Peace and self-aknowledge through its religion, represented by the Dalai Lama, and nowadays, it's not being able to express it freely, and that's due to China's opression.
