So I was trying to give it more of a nostalgic look here by softening the focus around the edges and adding a very slight vignette effect.

Then I thought it would be fun to give it more of a "Stephen King" feeling... you know.. kind of spooky. I added some grungy looking texture by layering over two other photos -- a macro shot of some barnacles, and another of some gravel and stones.

Finally, just for fun I added a creepy doll ( I found it here: http://www.cutelittlethreat.com/mary_ann.html ). Creepy dolls make everything scary. I removed the barnacle texture too. Mabe the doll is not quite blurry enough.
