I decided to go abstract this time. The seperate layers for this image are shown below.

Layer ten (mode multiply, 100%)
A rough, black, brushstroke border with a blur filter. |
Layer nine (mode normal, 100%)
This layer was transparent except for the white brushstrokes with a brown drop shadow. |
Layer eight (mode multiply, 100%)
A few black brushstrokes in the corners. |
Layer seven (mode soft light, 100%)
A copy of layer six, flipped horizontally. |
Layer six (mode soft light, 100%)
The original image with a photocopy filter. |
Layer five (mode vivid light, 100%)
A piece of the original image with a strong "smart blur" filter setting. |
Layer four (mode color, 100%)
A photo of a sunset I took last weekend provided some nice colour. I used a posterize filter to make the colours less blended. |
Layer three (mode multiply, 64%)
Random brush strokes to add texture. |
Layer two (mode normal, 100%)
Shadows, highlights, and more textures Layer one (background) was just white. |
