happiness is always a by-product.

2008.06.14

Happiness is always a by-product. It is probably a matter of temperament, and for anything I know it may be glandular. But it is not something that can be demanded from life, and if you are not happy you had better stop worrying about it and see what treasures you can pluck from your own brand of unhappiness.
- Robertson Davies

*i'm going to find a fitting picture for this later; by now please just enjoy the brilliant quote.

rmjannette that is a brilliant quote, i never thought of happiness as a by-product exactly. but i get it.

longimanus Interesting definition... I beleive happiness is just a moment, if lucky, a chain of moments, and the reason many of us are unhappy because they expect happiness to be a constant state that last forever. I am very curious what image you come back with! It seems to be a real challenge!
