this were taken in Ollantaytambo, next to an impresive inka ruin, the town was in a party when we arrive, so we had a very special day. my friends start to dance huayno (a tipical dance) with the folcks of the town, and them we were absorve by the party... actually it was amaizing as an experience and as a photographer, when you talk with people, and enjoy what they are doing they open up like a flower to the camera, they even ask you to take them photos... the bad thing... is that this happen during the night... :( so, no background and had to use flashlight.
the ms with the child, is silvia, she became friend of us, and yeahh 2 drinks, her child was drinking beer. drinking in the highlands is very comun so i think she didnt to have her daughter drinking beer
the other drink is chicha de Jora, a traditional corn drink of the andes.
the guys with the bands, are the buttlers, every year the town choose the buttlers, and they pay for everything in the party... its and honor to become a buttler for the towns party, so to honor them i ask them for a photo, they were very very nice.
other turist were enjoying the party, but i couldnt take a good photo to show them dancing and drinking with the people of the town.
this was so special, in andes when people open up, they are warm hearted and the give you everything (the few they have)
take a look at the last photo, this guy barely speak spanish (they speak quechua, the native lenguage) and he aproch me and told me
"what are you going to do with this photos in lima? i am a poor farmer i know that a photo of me, can sell, so what are you waiting for, sell the photos and do business" (he wasnt asking for money)
The pictures are great and I love the stories that go with them. The last picture is even that much better knowing more about the people in it. Nice job!
