Abang arrives in Detroit

2008.05.21
I was so excited when Abang (my eldest brother) called to inform that he has re-scheduled his flight to one day earlier. Yeay! In the morning, I was busy preparing nasi minyak, ayam kerutuk and jelatah to picnic at Belle Isle Park in Detroit after we picked him up at 6.30pm.

However, his flight was delayed by half an hour.

D noticed that I was extremely happy for the past few days when I learned that he was coming to see me.

Since we had extra time at the airport, D and Farhan enjoyed watching the airplanes departing and landing. Heh.

I was busy posing with Sarah….

…while Farhan could not be bothered but engrossed watching the airplanes. Hmm… just like his Daddy!

Alhamdulillah, Abang safely arrived with all his belongings and my food supplies ;-)

Abang commented it was chilly here. Hmm… the weather was not on our side to enjoy our picnic.

On our way to Detroit, we stopped by at the Dearborn Mosque since Abang has not prayed yet.

This is the biggest mosque in the United States.

Since it started to rain, we decided to have our ‘picnic’ at the mosque. Time and weather was not on our side. If not we could bring Abang to Belle Isle Park.

Though it was raining, we still headed to Detroit Riverfront as Abang didn’t have much time for sightseeing. He would be leaving for Malaysia on Friday afternoon. He could not stay longer as he has to go to different country next week. My jet-setting bro!

All these beautiful shots were captured using Abang’s sophisticated EOS camera. This is Windsor, Canada, on the other side of Detroit River. We would need to go to Canada to capture Detroit skyline :P

The camera could get a beautiful shot despite raining and low light.

That’s a monorail track (People Mover) above Abang’s head and Renaissance Center in the background - HQ of General Motors.

It’s Windsor, Canada behind us.

At the Detroit International Riverfront pavilion.

nikai I didn't care about the model, as long as it's a digital SLR. Anyway, after checking the images, it was found that the cameras were indeed *BOTH* Canon EOS-1D Mark III.. and.. EOS-5D. Abang commented that the EOS1DMark3 was more advanced.

nadura whoaa... what great shots!! I'm into photography but did not have a really good camera, I will only get to the office camera when on official duty.. its Canon EOSD.

I love the scenery the camera captures.. it makes it look so alive.
