Shopping and sightseeing

2008.05.22
We decided to bring Abang shopping at Birch Run Factory Outlet. An hour's drive north from Ann Arbor.

Because you would not get these cheap branded goods in Malaysia.

We could still pose after we came out from the first shop.

After that we were so engrossed with shopping and we only took a break for lunch at Guest Services. I packed the lunch in the morning so that we would not waste time to look for restaurants.

Abang only stopped shopping when our car boot was full. Heheh.

He had to buy extra luggage at Samsonite’s store to accommodate the Coach handbags that he bought. Hahah.

Abang likes the shape of water tank here.

As the sun sets at 9pm nowadays, we still had time to show Abang a bit of Ann Arbor.

The goose at Gallup Park, about 5-minute drive from our place.

I really admire the shots using Abang’s camera.

Beautiful leaning tree… so peaceful!

As Abang brought two cameras, D could enjoy taking photos as well.

Abang loves photography. He has been shooting since young age and he has owned many types of cameras ever since.

Despite his busy schedule, he would still find time to enjoy taking pictures.

Abang was too busy to pose with me.

I like this picture, taken by D! An almost perfect reflection.

Abang reminded me of my late father. The way he walks.. and he’s as calm as Abah. Oh no… sadness is creeping in.

A bit of Ann Arbor’s downtown, near D’s university.

D did a small tour around University of Michigan.

U of M’s clock tower.

The fountain in front of the clock tower.

I used my ‘lil camera as they were so occupied with their cameras’ settings.

We are 12 years apart.

Great pose with U of M’s flowers signifying…

… their colors, blue and yellow.

As summer is approaching, people start to plant roses. There are no more tulips and daffodils around.

Abang just missed the beautiful early bloomers of spring that came and went quickly.

“Hey, that’s an awesome shot!” I commented

A good bokeh by D, eh?

That’s D’s school behind us.

Abang treated us dinner at Al-Ameer, a halal restaurant in Dearborn. Many thanks, Abang! Farhan commented that Abang was our first visitor here.

Btw, this was the second time he visited me in the US. The first time was in St Louis when I was doing my undergrad studies.

Datinnikzaharah Eli, you really look so happy.
I use to have big cameras in those days too, but I cannot afford to carry them anymore. But I wish I can take all those beautiful pictures with my small Canon Ixus 30.

nikelin Eli, You look absolutely beautiful...
must be the good food, or my lil brother has been taking good care of you...

I enjoyed the pictures.....

I was contemplating to go over and see you guys too. But I had planned to take the whole family.... and $$$$$ is a major setback now.

If I went alone, I dont think I would enjoy it. I really wished that the kids, Ma and I could go over for a week or so...

Really missed you... and I want to take Miki over there so much...

????? Time to get a new camera. Who can resist a smooth silky bokeh by DSLR?
