Day 3: From Minneapolis MN to Bismarck ND

2009.07.02
We all slept well in the cabin last night. I woke up fresh and fixed the breakfast for everybody... after taking my bath definitely ;). I had to also reheat frozen black pepper beef to be packed together with the rice for our lunch along the highway to Bismarck.

D helped out with the dishes :). Thanks to Kandaq for the water container. I was initially puzzled why he bought this... now I just learnt how useful it was. Hah! From our last year camping experience we didn't need this since all our tent sites came with water and electricity. However, this cabin did not have tap water on site!

Enjoying continental breakfast ... sausages and eggs :)

This campsite is clean and well-maintained.

Bye cabin, it's time to be mentally prepared for tenting. Heh! Ohh... physically too, D ensured all of us got daily doses of vitamins.

Beautiful roses were blooming near the KOA bathroom.

Hey we were back on I-94 West again to our next destination.

Farhan was really amused by this billboard. Funny eh?

I like this one ... on any days that ends in Y. Heh!

Just like our journey last year, we saw lots of hay rolls across Minnesota.

It was time to break the journey and co-pilot had to take over ;)

Sarah would never leave behind her hot chili sauce!

Farhan would always ask whether I packed lunch or not. Growing-up boy!

D wanted to rest more but I let him rest in the car and I took over the wheel.

Entering North Dakota for the first time for the kids and NIKAI.

Yup, we would be crossing North Dakota on I-94 still.

I like it when the speed limit was 75mph and it was just a straight road crossing the great plains. But, I gotto be careful though since we were carrying the cargo and... it was windy too!

Giant bison?!

Well, North Dakota and bisons are synonymous, isn't it. Btw, that was a huge rain curtain!

Nevertheless, we were lucky that the rain did not hit us. Can you see the tree branches in that lake? Weird eh?

D said last winter's snow must be bad it killed the trees, and the melted snow became lakes.

We arrived Bismarck KOA at 6.30pm. If possible, we would try to choose the campground which received 2008 President Award just to ensure the campsite is favorable by the campers.

We had more than enough time to setup our tent since the sunset was at 9.47pm. Wow! Traveling west is good as we keep on gaining extra hour due to timezone changes.

Kids were helping their Daddy while I was busy setting up the table and preparing for the dinner.

D was not that happy with the WiFi strength and he was told that the big trees were blocking the signal. So, we had to spend some time at the pool instead to upload pictures to this photoblog.

There were many horses near our tent site.

That was what we had for dinner! I missed fresh veggies and only managed to buy canned green beans from the KOA store :(

It was getting chilly...

Farhan only had his dinner at 10pm after spending a couple of hours at the pool.
