Day 26: Resting in Rock Island

2009.07.25
We felt such a relief waking up without having to rush to go out visiting places. Now that we were approaching the end of our roadtrip, everyone was tired and we were all in need for a rest day! Today was the day, yeay!

However, not for Farhan! This was what he's been waiting for, his first day of fishing during this trip. This campsite has two lakes for him to fish for free. Can you spot him?

He left early in the morning when the breakfast was not even ready! Guess what.. we had Kawanku prata and tomato dhal for breakfast today. Yummy! We got those from a halal store at Ames, Iowa when we stopped by to take pictures of Kak Nun's alma mater yesterday. We bought some halal meat too! Yeay!

On my God! He looked very tanned when I was looking for him during lunch time.

D was excited to spend his time grilling chicken for our lunch.

This was real good especially we'd been eating only seafood lately ever since our frozen food were all gone.

At some point, D felt like fishing too! Heh!

Trying his luck...

Farhan had been getting lots and lots of sunfish but...

... he released all of them back to the lake.

Hey, he'd never caught a striper before in Ann Arbor! ... but also released them back since they were too small.

Ewww... life bait which Farhan bought from the KOA store.

D got many stripers too!

Let it grow bigger...

I've been waiting there armed with the camera just in case they would catch a big fish! Hahah!

However, they kept on getting the small ones.

Farhan spent all day long at the lake. He just came back to the cabin to eat and pray! We just let him enjoy his day and everyone got to do what they loved to. Sarah was definitely busy facebooking or myspacing at the cabin :P

They had this hay ride for the kids but...

... his kids were not interested to hop in this ride. Hahah!

It was pretty fun to go around on this ride around this huge campground!

Hey, that was our cabin!

Passing by RV area

Many many rows of RVs

This site won President's award in 2006, why not last year eh? ...In my opinion this was the best KOA I've ever been.

I went out with D to do some groceries at this store not far from our campsite.

When we were busy preparing for our dinner, Farhan came back with a big smile to show-off what he caught for the day, a small-mouth bass. D was ever ready with his grill. Heh!

I made sambal kicap for the companion to the grilled fish :)
