Day 28: Back to Michigan

2009.07.27
It was indeed a pleasant stay in this lovely kabin at this beautiful kampground. Yeah I remember, it's kamping, not camping!

Well, it was a bit slower than usual to pack all our stuff back into the cargo and trunk.

We will be staying for a few days in Ann Arbor to run few errands and also bid goodbye to friends who have been like family to us. Once we load our stuff from the storage to our rented truck on Friday, we are good to leave for NJ on Saturday morning. That's the plan!

Prior to that, we will need to camp for two nights in KOA Monroe which is about 30 minutes from Ann Arbor.

Goodbye Rock Island! We all voted this as our best KOA thus far :)

"Great people, great camping"

Wildflowers

Playground and swimming pool

I'm not too sure why this campground is also known as Camelot.

They have a sword stuck in a stone at the entrance. Excalibur?

Ohh... Rock Island is part of the Quad Cities which include two cities from Iowa and another two from Illinois. So these Quad Cities are served by the Quad City International Airport, located in Moline.

Before we continued our journey towards Michigan, ...

... we just had to do one more thing!

To go to Deerfield somewhere near Chicago ...

Upon leaving the storage, we headed away from downtown Chicago as we did not want to get stuck in the rush hour traffic.

As we entered Indiana, as always whenever we passed by this route, we noticed lots of trucks!

At one point...

... NIKAI was in between two big trucks! Heh!

We just could not wait to be back in Michigan again though it's no longer home to us :(

Nevertheless, we felt great to see the welcome sign :)

NIKAI's reflection :P

Hey, we saw this interesting cloud formation! D said 10, I said IQ, Farhan said 1G and Sarah's imagination went wild. Hah!

Since we would not be able to make it to Monroe on time to pick up the key for the cabin, we decided to overnight in Kalamazoo.

At this motel by the Interstate 94.

From zabihah.com, we found this halal restaurant, about 4 miles from where we stayed.

Alhamdulillah...

Masala Dosai!

... and spicy chicken briyani! What a great dinner!
