Day 29: Last night of camping!

2009.07.28
We skipped hotel breakfast and went out to have our brunch somewhere near Kalamazoo upon checking out.

Yeah, everyone was ready to wrap up our camping and summer vacation...

... and we shall begin our new chapter in New Jersey.

My growing up boy ordered dinner tilapia for himself, and he finished it. Heh!

D did not enjoy his brunch as he was worried about NIKAI's aircon that was leaking water onto the carpet. He went to a nearby workshop to have it checked while we were eating at IHOP.

But he found out it would take an hour just to get attention, so D decided to stop by at Ann Arbor instead of heading straight to Monroe, which was our final destination for camping.

It would only take less than two hours to reach Ann Arbor from here. Ohh... D suddenly got excited to see this bus advertising its free WiFi. Heh! He asked me to trail behind it so that he can have access to Internet.

He managed to do some facebooking and stuff until the bus took the exit to Jackson later on.

We managed to call Ayu while we were on the way to Ann Arbor. Since D would spent some time at the workshop, I took opportunity to drop by at Ayu's place.

Kids were excited to meet Qistina again after almost one month!

Pity Ayu! She rushed to prepare lunch for us after our phone call despite her sprained ankle. There was this guilty feeling but her lunch was so yummy... gulai ikan asam pedas! Yum! ... till Sarah asked to tapau some for dinner. Heh! Many thanks Ayu :) We pray for the speedy recovery.

Kak Deng and Aishah dropped by at Ayu's place when we were having our lunch. They did not know we were there! What a co-incidence! We were so glad to catch up with them again :).

Ayu went into trouble again to cook pisang goreng for us which we all ate a LOT! Hee... Thanks again :)

Bye U of M :(

Ayu initially wanted to join us camping at Monroe, which is just half an hour drive from Ann Arbor. But then with her leg condition, she decided to give it a pass and invite us to have BBQ at her place instead of at the campground.

Hello again KOA Monroe! We came here last time with Ma.

Btw, we have made reservation for two nights at the cabin since we had $100 voucher from the rubber duck race which we won during last visit.

Since Ayu did not join us and we were all tired of camping already, D made a last minute decision to rent their RV/trailer for one night instead. That RV was permanently stationed there for those who want to experience camping in an RV.

D actually surprised me with this since I had already started unpacking our staff in the designated cabin. Thanks very much D!

Btw, that's a sofa bed!

So, this is how they decorate the interior of an RV

D was amazed by so many storage areas and hidden compartments inside and outside of the RV.

We had to be extra careful for not spilling the water so as not to damage the wood finishing.

There's one queen bed at this end and 2 double deckers for four pax at the other end. The 'lil bathroom is so cute as well :)

The next morning, Farhan spent a couple of hours fishing at the lake.

Since we just spent a night here, ...

.. Farhan did not have the opportunity to try their water slide ...

.. or playground :P. No.. he's too old for this!

... but he did swim and play at the sand beach..

Goodbye KOA Monroe ...

.. and we can officially close this camping chapter for this summer. Heh!

Nevertheless, the roadtrip will still continue as we have not reached our home in New Jersey yet.
