Oh Jan!... I was planning to post insects macro pics in a couple of days, but now I'm not so sure anymore. Mine absolutely won't match the spectacular beauty of yours! #1 & 4 are stunning!

Jan, you've outdone yourself here my friend. Each and every shot, an absolute testament to your skill and mastery of our craft. I wasn't planning on posting any upcoming insect macros, but even if I had - ala Madoc - these certainly would have changed my mind against it. Fabulous work here Jan. Its going to be a tough call between these and Dkelley's shot for tomorrow's FP!

I actually stopped breathing looking at these! Magnificent doesn't even begin to describe the way that you captured this insect! Neither does brilliant, but that's what I'll say! :)

M A S T E R P I E C E I can see the difference between Nikon orginal lens and other auxillary brands... Just PERFECT set.... The details, the color and the DOF are the best setting.. Can not be better in my opinion.... They deserve a frontpage...My crazy friend !

The first bug's eyes look like garnets, and then they seem more like kidney beans in #4! Such clarity you've achieved in the structure of the insects and the powdery pollen on the flowers! And I love the glossy shimmer of the wings in the last shot.
