Fake HDR

2008.08.07

i think after reducing the blue it would be better but its just to show you...

The original picture only converted from raw to jpg

I'm still playing with a program called Dynamic-Photo hdr and still do not know if i like it or not. The result are like a painting and i'm getting some remarkable result, like to show you these two. The sky looks if it came from another picture but its really the same. Used one raw in Dynamic-Photo hdr and the same only converted to jpg. Dont think it has anything to do with photography but still having fun playing with it..

slowpete I think HDR has its place in photography. it really helps adding that something to the sky.
Having said that, it is easy to make it look like a digital painting. Nothing wrong with that if that was the effect one is after.
isn't the end result we are looking for something that is visually pleasing.
let me know how you find the program. I still need to play around with HDR so actually i should not comment at all
;-)

tbranscum I have never done anything HDR and actually know nothing about it. I will say that the sky is beautiful.

mariaps I think the result is stunning! Very dramatic. And I think it has everything to do with photography in the 21st century. :)

DancingDolphin Interesting that you say it has nothing to do with "photography".... I kind of feel the same... and yet I wonder if people felt like that when photography went from b/w to color!?!

Frenchies I love this pic ! I appreciate HDR, the sky simply seems to be in movement.

apnimages As I am a Lighten.Darken.and Crop Guy what can I say, what my eye see's as I press the shutter is the true picture.and I try to capture it ,not have to change it after, then I am happy.......Now thats me.But then I am strange.I hate computers and love camera's
as a newspaper photographer I can not change pictures, when I come to Holland we can have a good discussion on it .

rolpa Good demo. Impressive but I'd 'turn it down' a bit.
rolpa · 2008-08-08: 19:00
rumekintun many years ago i had the same opinion that apnimages.. but now I thing that photography is a representation... that is to present again showing in first plane that you want to put first.. in this case, I think that HDR is a very good option, like any other .. it is not a fake reality.. is the reality as you see.. ..
by the way ..the #1 is amazing

elclic hdr is an adiction. i ve discover that the perfec city for HDR is my extremly gray city (lima), but i dont have raw format in my camera hehehe. this photo is cool. hdr gives some extra drama to the shoots. and i really like what you are doing with hdr.
elclic · 2008-08-09: 21:52
mattandbranson Hmm...I am not sure about the sky here, but I love the depth it gives to the water and the foreground. Definitely something interesting to experiment with!

emmetan i think u did a good job =)

ThomasChu haha...
With nowaday digital editing technology, "stunning sky and clouds" is an easy task and no longer valuable .....
ThomasChu · 2008-08-11: 00:39
Angelochik I like both
Angelochik · 2008-08-13: 18:37
astrobrojler Sometimes pictures edited with HDR technique look exaggerated, not natural – you were close to this effect in above set. But for me first shot is more interesting than original, second one. I can see beautiful Cirrus which are almost invisible at #2 ;)
