this photo above shows a bridal sedan chair from the Song dynasty - in ancient weddings, the bride was brought to the groom's house in one of these, carried by 4-8 people the elaborate artwork, as well as all the gold and jewels on the sedan chair shows the wealth of the families that are part of this wedding. but the question is: since there is no visible doorway, how did the bride get into this? |
