An American Birthday Party (in Sweden)

2007.10.20
The birthday girl, in the center with the tiara, is Ali. She's 21!

Jen and I. The party was themed a 'pretty' party as well as an American party, so we all dressed up.

Emma decorated the apartment with American-themed stuff. Including this odd banner.

American flag and Jen's hand.

The grain is wack in a lot of these pictures, but I didn't want the flash on. A blurry Alex.

Ali's candles on her cake were actually sparklers, which were fun. Emma's ducking. I love the blurriness of these pictures.

At some point we got into an unhealthy fascination with the American flag. It's weird, because none of us are particularly patriotic. But we wanted an American themed party, damnit, because we're Americans!

From left to right: Zoe, Jessie, Cati, Katie. New friends! They're in the Swedish program with us, but we've just now started hanging out together, which is nice.

Hearts confetti.

Nutella and pretzels, a favorite dish of the evening.

Ali with her American flag. And a tiny Swedish flag topping that!

Zoe, Katie, and Emma. Emma's kitchen has an awesome red accent wall and chandelier. Sweet!

A dance party was bound to happen.

Dancing!

Zoe, myself, Katie and Emma. After a while almost everyone left, but we stayed and had a fantastic time.

On the way to Emma's apartment, Katie dropped her bottle of wine. This was very sad, and on the way back home we decided to take a picture, you know, for the memories.

Me on the Tunnelbana. Katie, Zoe, and I live in the same apartment building, so it was nice that we could go home together.

Ali's 21st birthday was yesterday, so we had a lot of the girls on our program over to Emma's apartment for an American-themed party. It was actually one of the funnest parties I've ever been to, and completely ridiculous.
