on my way along the coast road i suddenly ran into these two pheasants. Where they arguing? or just having a chat about the weather

it was fun seeing them headbobbing at each other, so i stayed in the car for a while to watch them and get some shots.
oh look the left one is tagged on it's tail

untill they noticed me, so i decided to get out hoping to get some closer shots.............

and of they whent, but i was lucky they didn't seem to be in much of a hurry, and i took it verry slow to go towards them. As i didn't whant them to get run over as on my side was the main coast road

leave me alone

this one could go for the running theme ;-)

a bit awkward with that low sun though, one moment lighting was good, the other to bright, but i must get myself a UV filter i think, might help to get rid of the morning sun haze

Great set Peter! Too bad they were in the shadows on the shots where they are together. The shots after 13 really show the wonderful colors. They are beautiful!

Wonderful set - pheasants are such colorful birds! Apparently your shots show that they also have some type of pheasant language we can't understand ;-)

Ja, beestjes...ze blijven nooit staan of zitten voor de camera hé !
Je hebt ze toch mooi weten vast te leggen met u canon-toestel !!
Vanaf 13 zijn ze idd heel goed te zien en vallen de warme kleuren van hun veren duidelijk op.
Knap gedaan.

The pheasant is such a lovely bird, very elegant with beautiful colors. You captured some wonderful shots here for sure. Another great song choice, this one gave me my first laugh of the day, thanks!! ; )

Regarding filters, etc... do you do any processing in photoshop or a similar program? It's surprising what can be done after the fact.

Wow, they're great. I've seen a few pheasants round our way in the past week or so but have never got anywhere near close enough to get a picture let alone a whole wonderful set. I'm impressed :¬)

Oh well done! I've been watching the phesants from the train everyday just wishing I could get out and photograph them. Some beautiful pictures of a beautiful bird.
