21/03/09 just things i came across during my walk today

i just went for a walk along the beach, the dunes and woods, not really looking for something special, so it's just a mix of things i came across, to start of with, this lovely statue of mother and child

this is the great thing about my town, it's at the sea, so we have the beach, then you just walk into the dunes, cross the coast road and 5 minutes further you are in the middle of the woods, what more do you want ?

if only i had a better lens, this is something we don't see very often along the Belgian coast, certainly my first time, he was chasing a pigeon, great to see such an air battle in real life, but a little to far to get great shots, i cropped this one, to see it a bit better, lovely bird of prey. Hope i see it again (after i have my new lens next week)

and yes, today as always on the 21st of march, spring has officially started, so why not try and shoot some different plants and they're buds
|
a lot of prickly plants in the area where the dunes turn into woods. The thorns are really sharp, believe me ;-)

this is a left over of a catterpillar nest from last year. I'll try to get some shots this year when the mini CP's break out of the nest, hundreds come out at the same time, great to see ............... just not verry good for the plants :-(

it took me about twenty minutes following this bumble bee around before i managed to take this shot, my my, it was verry busy indeed, trying to make a nest i think, as every so often it started digging, and flew of again, great fun.
i think a lot of passers by thaught i was drunk the way i was turning around trying to follow bumble haha

All of these are great, I love #26 ! Very good micro shots and yes, would be great to have a big zoom sometimes !

Lucky you Peter! My summer place looks very much like this and I miss it during these long winter months... so it was good to see YOUR area, and you have it year round! Let's see, the photos: lovely shot of the pussy willows.... beautiful dof on the flowers, nice! .... I like the starburst in the woods... 26 may be my favorite, really nice and quiet place. Thanks for sharing!

Count me in, I'll come along. Who could possibly resist such a beautiful, peaceful walk...well except for the drunk part! ; ) You truly are blessed to be so near the sea and the woods. I love being in the woods but the ocean is over two hours away. #1 and all the delicate buds really embody the tenderness of the song. Thank you for this gentle post. ; )

Absolutely gorgeous #25, 26..27..Like the horse trail into the woods, wood love to ride on that, gorgeous pink flower in #22..only thing you're missing is the mountains :-0

wow peter :) You're just like me :D When i go for a walk i never expect good shots (OMG WHAT A BIG LIER I'M!!! of course i go always searching for them :D hahahaha) so as i live nearby a forrest, is easy to me have at least 1 or 2 good shots hahaha :P:P as spring is comming, and Easter Vacations too, i've more time to go there, and see whats new ;) and take some shots :D wo-wo! NOW about your set :) -------------------------------------------------------------- 12# if you like the CP, you should check these pinus ;) every Spring some CP (be carefull, they are toxic, so dont be very close nor touch them), do their nests there. they are always nearby the pinus, or in the floor, or getting up of it! if you search carefully you'll find many of them, and take good shots! ;) 14# poor flowers :D these ones are sooo little, i almost kill them always i go for a walk :( Am I a killer? hahaha :) 15# i dont know about these, but they dont look like the ones i said above. because the pinus CP are always in Pinus. ;) they are beautiful ^^ You should see them ;) and also i'm wondering which ones will get out of these! :D You should wait and see ;) about the plants, that's a terrible fact... these destroy all the plant, because they eat the leafs :( 17# i miss these! I've waited for them! to shot them! but naaah...they didnt come to my garden flowers yet! wo-wo! be careful when you see those! they are dangerouse :P 18# OMG these are the plants that makes everyone in my school allergic :D , every day, thousen of these seeds, fly from these trees, and are always in the air, making many people allergic and sneeze :P:P Lucky me, i've not found yet something i'm allergic (maybe to centipedes... I HAVE PHOBIA OF THEM!!! I HATE THEM!!! GRR) 25 and 26# are amazing! expecially 26#! looks soooo ... hmm :) Amazing set you've got Peter!

Ik heb genoten om deze wandeling hier tussen jouw foto's te kunnen volgen terwijl ik luisterde naar het lied ! Prachtige set, met als favoriet 26...het ziet er daar zo rustig en ...ja...gewoon vredig-stil uit !
